Rocky Mountain Wild Exotics
We are a Small Exotic Rescue and Sanctuary in Colorado Springs with a focus on Sugar Gliders.
We are a division of Rocky Mountain WildHeart a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center that is getting PACFA and USDA licensing to be an official Sanctuary. The Wildlife Center decided to open an Exotic Ward due to the clear need for exotic education, outreach and sanctuary within our community. Our Animal Care Team originally started out in the Zookeeping field before switching to Wildlife Rehabilitation. This background has given us a lot of hands on experience and resources regarding exotics. Our goal is to provide support and education to our community regarding exotics. Many exotic animals are easily accessible, but not necessarily easy to care for! A lot are gotten on a whim, or given as gifts. This ends in a lot of them being later surrendered to organizations like ours.
We are here to support owners so that these animals can stay in homes and get the proper care they need. We are open and happy to answering any and all questions about exotics (and if we don't know, we will tell you and direct you to a more knowledgeable source on the subject).
On this page we will go into detail on what kinds of animals we care for, how we care for them, enclosures, diet, toys, enrichment and everything else that goes along with their care. We also promote education on the exotic pet trade and the reality of owning exotics as pets.
